SURFBOARD hand shaping and glassing / High performance short board /
Board dimensions are 6'2 x 19 1/2 x 2 1/2
PU/Poly // Glassed 4x4+4 / Futures quad - Single concave nose to tail.
Follow me over at instagram shrednaught
I went with a slightly wider tail and quads as I have large feet and If I don't get my back foot exactly where I need it I feel my foot hanging off the tail on more narrow tails. This is a perfect example why everyone should work with a shaper and get boards customised to their personal preferences.
Ive ridden the board a few times since the build and I have to say I love it.
Please feel free to leave comment if you have any questions regarding this build or any others.
Thanks.

SURFBOARD SHAPING / Hand shaping surfboard nose and tail thickness PLUS TOOLS.
Просмотров 13 тыс.Год назад
For beginner surfboard hand shapers it can be hard to take away that extra foam in the nose and tail of your first surfboards. In this short DIY or " HOW TO " video i'll attempt to show how you can concentrate more of your time on the ends of your surfboard to get a nice foil. Plus the tools you can use. This video is the start of some amateur surfboard shaping tips I hope will help the newer p...
BUILDING a TIE DYE SURFBOARD / Start to finish surfboard build
Просмотров 11 тыс.Год назад
In this start to finish surfboard build I hand shape and glass a tie dye effect surfboard. The aesthetic I achieved by staining the fibreglass before glassing. If you're interested In how to do this I am currently editing a video to describe exactly how I achieved the look. It should be available in a couple of weeks. The board is eps/epoxy construction and is 5'8x20 3/4 x 2 3/8 I give a brief ...
Surfing a MINI SIMMONS and MID LENGTH
Просмотров 9 тыс.2 года назад
Boards ridden are 5’4 twin mini Simmons and a 6’8 mid length quad. First wave is a reef break that tends to be a bit fat on the roll in but then starts to pitch. Second wave was a fat reef/sand break on high tide. This is some of the last footage I got before my car was broken in and all my gear stolen. For those that care - I have been busy moving shaping bays and haven’t had much time to shap...
Professional surfboard DING REPAIR - Quick video -
Просмотров 47 тыс.2 года назад
Just a short video on a rail ding fix. The repair was all done on one day. The board hadn't been surfed in a while so the foam was dry. NEVER fix a ding that is still wet as this will only cause more issues. No spray cover up was asked for, so what you see is just the straight resin and q-cell filler. This is a poly resin fix.
Start to Finish SURFBOARD build - Time Lapse - Hybrid blue thruster
Просмотров 65 тыс.2 года назад
A friend asked if I could combine the best elements of his fish and thruster into one surfboard and of course I accepted the challenge. Here is the result - A surfboard representation of a reverse mullet haircut. Party up front and business down the back. With a wide fishy template forward pulling into a thinly foiled rounded pin thruster in the tail. With the idea of still being able to paddle...

Building an eps-epoxy BOOGIE BOARD / from START to FINISH /

Don't worry.. No real surfboard blanks were harmed in making this video. My EPS blanks are delivered within a safety shell of EPS foam and rather than throw it in the bin I decided to do what any self respecting surf board shaper would do and built a body board. I have no real knowledge when it comes to these water craft other than several derogatory names for them... so armed with that knowled...
DIY custom shift knob from waste surfboard resin. UPCYCLE
Просмотров 9 тыс.2 года назад
In this video i'll show you a very straight forward way to turn your old resin scraps into something to fund your next board build. I always have a small amount of resin left over from surfboard glassing so rather than just tip it in the trash I recycle it into car shift knobs, fin keys and other misc items to sell. f@t b@st@d says = well done to share tricks n tips n 3 string ?? curved ?? = i tried single to double concave with full length channels stopping just in front of the thruster fin and to make your board quicker you can double the length of your board and string that for your control [steerability] fin setting instead of just going to the nose [ depends on waves ? ] + take the fins out completely and rely on full length channels [mini mal small waves] + a big wave concept for thicker floatier boards [easier take off] like to have a thin rail at the bottom of the board leading like you have done to the top deck [to side rail slice along the face of wave without the bulky fat rail ] with pre- moulded foot placement on top deck [that drains the water] = dude keep kicking goals you are doing all tradesmen proud = cheers n all the best

Good tips, I'd always wondered about that and they make sense now. and I'd like to add regarding fitting vacuum attachments at 4:02 - there is a RUclips that shows how to use a heat gun or maybe blow dryer to heat up a plastic Perrier (or other plastic soda) bottle to make an adaptor. Just cut the cap end and bottom off the bottle to leave a tube, heat that up with the heat gun until the plastic is soft enough to form it over the end of the Planer vacuum port, the do the same for the vacuum hose end and Voila. I wish I'd seen that tip sooner because you can look for days at all the Plumbing pipe attachments and they will always be just a little too big or too small to fit, so the heat gun is the solution and it works for regular plumbing fittings as well to change their size as required.

I need advice installing a bow eye in a epoxy foam raven paddle board. I plan to pull it behind a electric recumbent bicycle , with a yeti cooler and some ice and drinks on top while towing, I plan to have two bicycle wheels at the back. I have 4 tie points up front but need a tie point at the very front and it has to be strong. My plan is to either drill a horizontal hole large enough to glue a piece of carbon fiber tube with like a 6" set back from the tip from side to side of the board or drill a long hole at the bow to glue in a stainless eye bolt. Can someone please give me some suggestions please. Thanks
